Poetry on Buses invited the public to create, share, and experience poetry on transit, online and in community.

Tamar reimagined the long-standing transit art program as a multi-modal and multilingual social practice project. She shepherded a new focus on immigrant and traditionally underserved communities and expanded public partnerships that engaged 9 language communities in 20+ poetry workshops.
365 poems were selected for display online – a new poem for every day of the year. Each week, a poet was featured with a portrait and audio of their poem read in their own voice.
Poetry on Buses (Your Body of Water), 2016.
Lead Poet, Jourdan Keith. A collaboration between 4Culture, King County Metro, Seattle Office of Arts & Culture and Sound Transit. Managed by Tamar Benzikry as the 4Culture Public Art Project Manager.
From 2016-2018, more than 1600 residents responded to an open call for poems. 100 poems appeared on 7 fully outfitted Poetry Buses, Trains and Streetcars – all poems, no ads – and throughout their fleets.
